Artistry Dental - how we did it

Discover Artistry Dental, a private practice in Greenford, West London, combining architecture, technology and a personal vision.

After more than 20 years as an associate dentist, Dr Arti Shah fulfilled her lifelong ambition of creating a practice that reflects her personality, values and approach to patient care. Tour its welcoming reception, spacious surgeries and carefully selected equipment.

A DENTAL PRACTICE DESIGNED TO FEEL DIFFERENT

Dr Shah wanted to move away from the traditional clinical environment and create somewhere warm, artistic and inviting, where patients feel calm, comfortable and heard.

Set beside the canal within the redeveloped former GSK site in Greenford, the practice feels like a little oasis in London. Its branding inspired the architecture: curved walls, flowing archways and soft lines create a consistent identity throughout. Neutral finishes, teal accents, contemporary lighting and bespoke joinery bring character to the reception and treatment spaces.

The result is distinctive without being pretentious.

DESIGN MEETS ADVANCED DENTAL TECHNOLOGY

Working closely with RPA Dental, Dr Shah selected dental equipment that complements the design while supporting clinical efficiency, ergonomics and patient comfort.

The spacious surgeries feature Castellini and Stern Weber dental chairs, chosen for their design and comfort. RPA Dental also supported the practice’s imaging requirements, including the MyRay X6 CBCT, Neowise software integration and MyRay RXDC Hypersphere intraoral X-ray equipment with its ergonomic spherical rotating head.

The dedicated sterilisation room incorporates Stern Weber vacuum autoclaves, handpiece cleaning solutions and integrated reverse osmosis (RO) units for direct filling and draining. Thoughtfully planned cabinetry, storage and back-of-house spaces help the team work efficiently every day.

Silver and white finishes and uncluttered layouts keep the surgeries fresh without feeling cold.

FROM EMPTY SHELL TO FINISHED PRACTICE

Creating Artistry Dental required far more than an attractive interior. The commercial unit began as a shell-and-core space with limited services, so feasibility work was essential before Dr Shah could commit to the lease.

RPA Dental, including Pete Higson, became involved at an early stage, helping assess building requirements, drainage, essential infrastructure and lease considerations. Working with specialist consultants and the landlord, the team navigated structural permissions, detailed documentation and complex approvals.

RPA Dental’s early guidance helped prevent problems and plan costs. The project stayed remarkably close to its original financial projections.

Through RPA Dental, Dr Shah was introduced to the architect Zac. Hazyarc developed the architectural design, while ATL Design delivered the construction and fit-out. Together, the teams transformed Dr Shah’s ideas into a beautiful, practical dental environment.

A PERSONAL VISION BROUGHT TO LIFE

For Dr Shah, Artistry Dental represents much more than a business opening. After years of balancing dentistry and family life, personal bereavements prompted her to reflect on the future and the legacy she wanted to create.

Her family, mentors and professional partners supported her throughout the journey. Her husband later joined the business, bringing management expertise.

One of Dr Shah’s biggest lessons was the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people. From the earliest feasibility discussions with RPA Dental to the final clinical installations, teamwork was central to turning her long-held ambition into reality.
